BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN: BRING 'EM HOME

>

One of the nice things about grassroots politics is that you meet really cool people, candidates and their supporters alike. I just got an incredible e-mail from Rick Penberthy's campaign manager, Kevin Cate, telling me he didn't have words to describe this video he sent me. Neither do I. It's Bruce Springsteen singing "Bring 'em Home." It's very moving.

Bruce is a national treasure. He's there when we need him most, and no one can sing so simple a song with such feeling and such effect.

It was written by Pete Seeger during the Vietnam War and rewritten by him in 2003 for Bush's War.

That was very first I've seen on YouTube that actually brought a tear to my eye.

A simple song by Pete Seeger, re-invigorated by Bruce Springsteen, speaks volumes for many of us.

Thank you so much for sharing.

Now what is Bruce singing about again? Oh yeah, he is just another one of those "cut and run" types we keep hearing about from those disgusting Republicans who never, ever send their kids off to die.

Go, Bruce, go.

Thank you it's about time a peace movement was energized by popular artists, I long for the solidarity of the 60's

From frame one, I was reminded of a Pete Seeger concert in 1968 or 1969 (can't remember). I thought, "Wow, can you believe the Boss is going to be our kids' and grandkids' Pete?" (I'm at that talking to myself age!)

Thank you so much for putting this on your site. My son has been in Iraq for over 9 months now, I want him home. I, along with others from mfso.org have been standing on the sidewalk between the State House and the Cannon building Monday thru Friday since June 22nd. with the boots of all soldiers killed since Congress decided to stay the course June 15th. (todays boot count 42) I want to Thank Bruce for giving me hope that soon there will be more people in the streets than just the Military Families calling Bring Em Home, Bring Em Home.

If only Bruce would explain to me how bringing home the troops would make the mess in Iraq better. Bruce wants to add gasoline to the fire.
